ARTIST STATEMENT

"What interests me is how colours in combinations with one another can express poetic and complex thoughts and feelings that other people can relate to. 

The most important part of the process for me is the beginning, the inspiration, and this is the idea I carry through to the end.

Painting gives me an opportunity to think about my subject and observe it in a more deeply, this is both contemplative meditation and enthusiastic engagement!"

Natalie Légère B.A. is a multidisciplinary artist from Moncton, NB, Canada. Her recent solo exhibits include Raptors, Galerie Marie-Hélène Allain, Bouctouche, NB, Impressions: Mandalas from Still Life, Galerie 12, Moncton, NB, and Pastels, Galerie Assomption, Moncton, NB. 

Légère recently underwent a two year realist oil painting mentorship with Dustin Neece, a former apprentice of Odd Nerdrum's, and many workshops with Living Masters, as she changed her practice from abstraction to figuration, and from acrylics to oil. 

She maintains a Studio in Fredericton, NB, Canada, and has upcoming exhibitions: The Owls of Turtle Island, Saint-John Arts Center, Saint-John, NB, and a two person exhibit with Roch Bourque Quasi Monochromes, Galerie 12, Moncton, NB., in the Fall of 2024.
